Romanian Government ARICE Scholarship 2026
The Romanian Agency for Investments and Foreign Trade (ARICE) is awarding 40 fully funded scholarships to non-EU international students for the 2026–2027 academic year. This covers everything — tuition, accommodation, living costs, and more.

Next cycle: Feb 2027The Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers a separate scholarship programme for non-EU students covering tuition, accommodation, and a stipend. The 2026 cycle (Feb–March 2026) has closed. The next cycle opens February 2027.

Frequently asked questions
Can I apply for the ARICE scholarship if I already applied to a Romanian university?+
Yes, but you cannot already be enrolled. Applying for admission in parallel is fine — many students do both simultaneously.
Is medicine included in the ARICE scholarship?+
No. Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy are excluded from the ARICE scholarship. If you want to study medicine in Romania, IPCJ can guide you through the self-funded route, which starts from €7,500/year.
How competitive is the ARICE scholarship?+
40 scholarships are available for the 2026–2027 year across all eligible fields. Competition is real — a strong academic record and a polished application file make a significant difference.
Do I need to speak Romanian to apply?+
No. The scholarship includes a free preparatory year in Romanian if your programme requires it. Many programmes are taught in English or French — no Romanian needed.
What happens if I don't receive the scholarship?+
Romania's university tuition is still very affordable — starting at €2,000/year for most programmes. IPCJ will help you secure admission and navigate costs on a self-funded basis.
